General Ophthalmology services are provided by F. Jacob Khoubian, M.D. at our West Covina eyecare office. His skills for outstanding Cataract Surgery have helped our patients for years.
Dr. Khoubian is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist (Eye Physician and Surgeon) and the founder of Advanced Eye Institute. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA in 2008. Prior to this he completed a Retina Research Fellowship with Wills Eye Hospital in 2004. Dr. Khoubian received his Medical Doctor degree from Memorial University in Canada in 2003, as well as his Masters of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Touro College of Health Sciences in 1999. Dr. Khoubian graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UCLA in 1997.
Dr. Khoubian is a highly skilled and experienced Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who specializes in routine and complex cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery (enabling patient’s to be free of glasses and contact lenses after cataract surgery), LASIK, glaucoma, retina, and medical and cosmetic oculo-plastic eyelid surgery. To date Dr. Khoubian has performed over 5000 cataract surgeries in addition to many other laser and eyelid procedures.
Dr. Khoubian is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery. He is a published author of several research studies and is a national lecturer.
For three years in a row Dr. Khoubian received the vitals.com doctor review websites’ Patients’ Choice Award, as well as Compassionate Doctor Recognition. In 2014 he also received the Top 10 Doctors award for providing quality care.
In his free time Dr. Khoubian enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife, playing tennis, and snorkeling. Previously an amateur radio (“ham radio”) operator, he still has fun as an electronic hobbyist.
