Prior to her optometric education, Dr. Ruezga attended Mountain View High School in El Monte, CA, and graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a minor in Spanish. She was also an NCAA Division I athlete in softball while at Saint Mary’s and competed oversees in the Netherlands following graduation in Hoofddorp, North Holland.
While in optometry school, Dr. Ruezga served as Vice President of the Spanish Optometric Society and worked as a clinical technician for the Ocular Disease department at the University Eye Care Center in Fullerton, CA. Her professional interests include primary eye care, contact lens fitting including specialty contact lenses, age-related macular degeneration, and evaluation and management of Glaucoma. She has demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and is currently Board Certified after achieving Diplomate status for the American Board of Optometry. When Dr. Ruezga is not seeing patients, she enjoys spending free time with her family, singing, traveling, and attending concerts.
